What did you do to your camaro today
Mine is an A8, and the one for sale is an A10, which is almost identical, but with the cool split rear window. Might have to see if I can interest a friend in buying it!
Well, finally sold the 81 today that i had been parting out, what a relief to finally get rid of that headache. Also been buying alot of new things for the 80,new aluminum water pump, braided lines, aluminum pulleys, electric fan with aluminum shroud, and a few other parts. Now that the parts car is out of the garage,i can finally get the 80 in there and start putting the pile of parts into the car haha. Also got the best deal i have ever found yesterday. When i bought the 80 Z,it had the front flares, but the center of the front spoiler was missing.I have been watching craigslist, ebay, and posting want ads on the forums trying to get one,but it seems nobody wants to get rid of the ones they have, and if they do they were going for $200 plus so i was going to get a fiberglass center section for like $125,well like i said found a great deal yesterday on craigslist.I emailed the guy to see if he still had the center and how much he wanted,i was willing to pay up to the $125 that the other would cost me,but i got a nice surprise when he called me and said he would sell me the center with both front flares for $35,needless to say i was out the door and on my way before the conversation even ended haha.
Did some upgrades to the Austin today. Some athetics, and some for strength. I was under the car yesterday checking everything to determine the vibration I was feeling at 55 mph, and while working the steering wheel I noticdd the mounting plate for the Corvair box had some minor deflection. Nothing serious, but still bugged me, so I welded another gusset to the opposite side of the plate. Thought I had plenty, but I guess there was room for more, so in it went. Just an angled brace to strengthen it further:

In the back the mount I put in for the panhard bar's frame end didn't move, but as long as I was welding I decided to give it an angled brace to the floor, and a welded plate on the bottom, then a plate inside to sandwich the floor and further strengthen things back there too:

The asthetics were the oval factory holes in the frame used to lighten the car. I had welded braces across the holes with plans to weld them shut afterwards, just never got around to it, so:

Still have to get the sawzall out one of these days and hack these old leaf spring perches off, but I've done enough today:

I ran across this Anglia tonight on ebay while looking at vintage parts. Thought you all might like to see it.

Very cool! I really like Anglias!
Yeah I have to admit since you started posting up pics of yours I have a new found fondness for them too. I'll tell you something else I've been interested in lately since I found some old photos is early 10's and 20's racers. I'll have to scan some of them and post em up. Talk about old school.
An aquaintance sold a complete Anglia gasser minus engine and trans here recently for $2500! I found out about it too late, and was pretty bummed. Not that I'd start all over again, but I think I'd have bought it and set it aside to build later.
I figured if I finished it I could decide which one I liked best and sell the other.

Got new tires mounted all the way around today.I had a set of new bf goodrich 275/60/15 that i planned on using on the other car before i sold it,so i finally went and had them put on my rims today. Then i went and bought a set of bf goodrich 155/80/15 to put on the 4" rims that came on the front of the car.The tires that were on it were all pretty much like new,but the fronts and backs were different brands,i like my tires to be the same brand on all 4 corners, plus i like the white letters and the old ones were all black wall tires.
