Bought the Chevelle handles used from Old Car Parts here in town for $15 a pair. They were metallic blue, so I recovered with black naugahyde and painted them satin black. They also had a little cutout for the door handle to open doors. I filled that with a block of wood and some bondo before painting.
Joe's got 55 gal barrels full of used armrests. Just have to sort through and find a pair.

thats not a bad price. basicly i want to get door pannels done, then weld floor up, carpeting, clean up some wireing under the dash, readjust and clean up whats left of my factory a pillar covers and such, and it will feel like a good car, then get a hook and sew headliner and it will be done aside from roll bar and custom back seat like valls back. covered section

I've been gathering parts still. I've gotten some seatbelt covers, a trunk carpet, a trunk wire harness, black door panels, an interior wire harness is coming, and maybe a box with 2 12" subs in it for some bass.

Steve you got your wiring under control or do you still need something? I have an extra complete harness but one is a 80 w/ AC and the other is 78 w/out AC and with gauges. I have no idea what I'm gonna use. Plus I have the power window harness to install.

I'm picking up a complete 80 harness. It should have the spade style fuses in it and it isn't cut up. I really haven't spent alot of time looking at mine, but I know he just cut wires and pulled stuff out and tossed it. So I would have needed to decipher and get the correct ends on it too when the time came. Thanks for the offer though. Power windows would be nice. Is that another harness or is it part of the main one?

The power windows/locks are a seperate harness. I think I'm gonna wire mine on my own adding relays the factory left out. The windows run faster without the nasty voltage drop that the stock set up has.

I think the kits might be a better option too.

I was thinking that power windows and locks would be nice too. I'm also kicking around cruise control, AC, and maybe some of the other modern nicety's. They can be later on though. I need to keep focused. lol.

I also just realized I need a parking brake cable. It goes through the frame somehow and is cut off short of the drums. Another thing to look at. If I can get out there. 10 hours at work today, got totally soaked by the jetter at about 8:30 this morning so a lovely day in the cold all wet. It looks like the temps will be dropping mid week, maybe some time off to get my garage back to rights again and get back at it.
