What did you do to your camaro today
I've put this off long enough. I'm going to start stripping mine down today. I should probably make room for storing everything first thou. Maybe I should start a progress thread from the beginning this time and document the things I change or try to improve upon. Also document the body and paint work.

A little cool today out in the tent (low 40's
) so I fired up the heater and started fabbing up the parachute mount for my Simpson chute. Probably never use it, but it goes with my theme, so it's going on the car.
Built a bracket to bolt to the frame out of 1" heavy wall sq. tubing, and situated the chute with the top of the pack even with the bumper, and the rest below. Plenty of ground clearance, and it wont pull the frontend up if I ever did pull it. Drilled holes in the mounting plate and chute plate and bolted it all together.
The real fun part was repacking the chute!!! Holy crap! Talk about 10 lbs. in a 5 lb. bag, and then the pilot chute spring too! I should have gotten the wife to help, as it takes 4 hands, but instead I cussed and worked at it until I got it close. Then I put a strap around it all and pulled it tight. After that I was able to free my hands to tuck it all in and get the flaps of the pack overlapped and secrued with the clip. I also put a small padlock on it so some dope wouldn't pull it if I wasn't around to stop them.
After getting the chute done I decided I needed a change, so I got my woodworking tools out and began the panels. Used 1/2" plywood for the trunk divider, and made a pattern from cardboard to fit the area. Then transferred it to the plywood and cut it out. Started cutting the package shelf and seating areas, but ran out of batteries for the skill saw, and the sawzall, so called it a day.

Got a late start today, as plumbing problems popped up and I had to replace the toilet in the bath. Pulled my pass. seat to allow more room to the back and got my divider panel and seating area panels built from 1/2" plywood. Also modified my pass. seat with some "L" brackets to allow it to pivot forward by removing two pins at the rear mount. This way I can get to the back area easily if I need to do any work back there in the future.
Went over to Home Depot and bought a couple rolls of sound deadener mat. This stuff is great, and way cheaper than the big name brand mat material at only $15 for a 12"x15' roll. I bought two rolls and almost finished with one roll, but I'll use the rest up inside my doors to help deaden sound there too.
Ready for carpet now, and then I can secure the panels in the back once they're covered.
