today I finished the tach installation, put some leaf spring helpers on till I can get around to buying some new leaf springs, and I installed some new roof rail weatherstipping so I dont get wet when its raining, although I dont plan on driving too much when its raining but $#!+ happens.

Not sure I'm going to finish it. Although, I just might to get something bolted on the engine to protect the bottom end...
Steve, nobody can see the oil pan on a Camaro. If it was on something with ground clearance maybe, but on a 2nd gen I wouldn't worry about it. Black will make the tiny bit you see look perfect.

LOL, by the time I got it out of the car it looked like I went over a cliff. I folded it up and drove to my shop and dumped it in the dumpster. Then spent the day cleaning up my mess.

I had the local glass guy come and put a new mirror button on my glass of my 1960 Chevy truck. The button that was on there would not work with the mirror I wanted. SO.... in the process of removing my old button he broke my glass. Now this glass was flawless and if you dont know what the glass of a 1960 Chev truck looks like just google 1960-1963 Chevy truck and you will see a large and very curved piece of glass. Can you say big $$$. Needless to say he brought me a new glass and gasket and before he pulled the old one out he beat it pretty much back into sand. ( I guess he had to pay for it!).

Ouch!!!! Been so long since I had my '60 Suburban I forgot the mirror was even on the glass. Bet that project was a loser for him!

Took a 250 mile round trip to the Cicero, NY drag strip with my youngest daughter in the 79. A decent day in the North country!
