Just had mine towed home last Monday. Its a 80 Camaro Berlinetta T-Top I traded it off 2 years ago an 3 persons later the guy who was suppose to have it left it sit on a empty business lot & the owner of the property was going to crush it. I checked with the DMV it was still in my name 2 years later an I had it towed home. Today cleaned the car out they had parts all in the car they was ready to paint it an loaded the car down with any thing an everything they could unbolt an tossed it in it.

I would watch how much you do to the car.You could finish it up,get it painted,then if the guy who bought it last has a bill of sale or some proof that he bought it,you may get screwed.

 

Yeah, I'd be a little hesitant too. Hate to spend a ton of money fixing it up, only to have the last owner show up with a bill of sale and reclaim HIS car. Now if you can get a receipt from the property owner for a lien against the car for storage, for maybe $1, then you would have more backup to reclaim the car. At least contact a lawyer for some legal advice before going too far.

 

I didn't get too far on the Austin Sun, and nothing Sat. as I was helping a friend rebuild his '56 Chevy front suspension. I did get my exhaust started Sun. I want to be able to keep the dumps open on my fenderwell headers, so I'm welding a 2nd collector out the inside of the factory one. That will allow me to route my exhaust system under the car and with a blockoff plate on the original collector I can simply spin off 3 wingnuts and have open headers.
I got a complete exhaust system off my buddy's 68 Bird that had maybe 8-10 hrs. on it, and after cutting the rear portion off and flipping the pipes side for side it looks like it fits so well under the Austin one might think it was built for it! All I had to do was weld in the collector, bolt another collector to that, and add a 6" straight piece between them. Now I just need to repeat for the other side and add a couple hangers and it's done!
The donor exhaust is only 2.25" system, but I doubt I'll need anything bigger for a car this light. Should have plenty of power for the street, and if I need more I'll open the headers!

 

What size are the Champs on the rear?

 

Did nothing today except look at camaro pics and data,and wished i had the camaro back to work on.

 

Finished up the exhaust on my project. Started it up and it sounds great. Quieter than my Camaro, but stll plenty loud enough.
