The guy that was suppose to have had the car had no bill of sale or nothing to back up he ever had the car. The car has been mine legally since Aug. 03. An the materials used on the car was free of charge he spent nothing on fixing the car up out of pocket. I know the guy who had the business there were the car sat at before he moved the business it was his materials this guy used on it & the guy who has the business can back everything I say bout the car cause he owned the car before he traded this guy some work for the car but the last 3 people who had the car never took it out of my name it was just a hand shake deal with them. An the guy who owns the business said the guy who was suppose to have the car said f it I am done with it an left it sit on the property. There are several people who heard him. The guy was the one who threw a hammer through the windshield of the car cause he got pissed at it an said forget it an left an never came back for it. The car is in good shape & looks like a easy fix to get it on the road again. Two of the people who owned the car are brothers an I know both of them. I got luck on getting the car back before it got crushed. It will be easier on the wallet to drive then the truck that for sure.

Sounds like a good deal. It could get a little sticky if the guy claims that it's still his car. But once you have possession of the car, registered in your name, with the backing of witnesses (try to get something in writing), it would be extremely unlikely that the law would rule against you if it came to that. You have a lot in your favor, the other guy doesn't.

Had a pretty good day on the car. Got my Jaguar floor shifter installed, and linkage adapted to the TH350. Also got my throttle cable built to temp into the single 4 bbl. for now. Didn't want anything too exotic or clean until I test drive and then change the intake to the tunnel ram and dual 4's. I just stripped the inner cable out of an old tranny kickdown cable and swaged a eye on each end, then hooked it to the pedal and carb. I'll eventually use a decent Lokar or other brand universal cable once I know what I need.
Also got my driveline done. Still need to install the adapter joint to the rear to mate the TH350 joint to the big TH400 style yoke on the rearend. The driveline is a shorty! Only 28" center to center on the U-joints! I'll bolt it in and give it a test drive, then if it needs to be rebalanced I'll drop it at the driveline shop afterwards. Sometimes I get lucky cutting them down and they don't need rebalancing.
