Any type of plumbing/wiring kicks my but. I always try to lay it out so that it looks nice and I can work on it easily. I can't wait to do mine. My batt is goin in the trunk and I have an electric fan, I just bought relays and a couple toggle switches today for that. The only work I did was to strip the steel inner bumper structure and POR 15 it. I also put about 10 coats of spray bomb primer on the master cylinder, sanding between coats. I did that to fill in the pits. It looked pretty bad but is smooth as glass now.

 

today I drained the radiator and put anti-freeze in so it is now ready for pennsylvania cold temps,I also took it for 1 last ride before the snow flies.

 

Were lookin at some accumulation later in the week. Good thing my rad is still in the box, lol.

 

Still pretty mild here, and no fluids in my cooling system yet.
It seems to be a bit tougher to get these after market wiring harnesses looking good under the dash, and even more so when I have to figure out how to route the wires so they don't clutter up the firewall, inside or out. I may end up building a flat panel to cover everything inside and space it off the firewall 3/4" to hide it all.

 

Got my cowl induction hood operating!!! I've gotta tell you, to be cruisning along at 55mph, stomp down on the gas and see and hear that flap open on the hood,....just drives me crazy!!!! (I know,...it's the little things).

 

So that deal with the seller on Nasty worked out? Did his end up working?

I went and took apart some other stuff to blast at work tomorrow. Its cold as sh** outside this is not gonna be any type of motivation over the next several months.

 

No,..his never worked. I ended up buying a NEW solenoid unit for a 1969 from "Steve's Camaro Parts". All the vendors carry them for the 1969,..but no one has the unit for the 80 & 81's. It only took minor tweeking to make it fit and work correctly.

Fired up the Austin project today! Couldn't run it long or rev it much because I don't have water in it, but it sounds awesome! Of course that may just be because the fenderwell headers are open!

 

oh man Vall, I wish i could of heard it! i bet it sounds sweet with those open fenderwell headers!

ok well after some cussing and 4 hours today i finished up taking the rear drum brakes apart and installing the ebrake cable and then reassembled them. so now all i need to do is just bleed the brakes and take it out to test the brakes and rear end and hope that there's no issues with the rear!

I do feel like a master at drum brakes now though lol

 

No cutting coils in the car? LOL Its not that hard to pull them out and put them back in.
