What did you do to your camaro today

Being unmotivated can happen in winter lol.
But I just got a new 350 for my camaro, it's got an rv cam and camel hump heads got it for $350 from a family friend with a 3rd gen irok, still don't have a hoist or engine stand yet I'm probably either gonna borrow a hoist or just use the hand cranker thing I've got.
but what would be easiest? pulling the motor and tranny or just the motor? think I should pull the tranny too, to fix the speedomiter problem?
http://www.thegearbox.org/catalog/it...30/6238781.htm I believe this is what I need since I've tried everything else, But I have never touched a tranny before when I take the tail housing off is it gonna be hell to replace this speedo gear? should I just get the gear then take it to a shop? my rear seal leaks too so I should fix that too any books or anything ya'll recomend?

Hey James. If the front clip is off the car, then pulling it all as one package is easiest. If the clip is still in place it's easier to pull engine and tranny separately. The tailshaft is a piece of cake, and the seal even easier while it's off.

okay, I'm not to sure when I'll get to it now. Today we hit -11 with bout a foot of snow so unles we get 40's again the camaros not rolling anywhere in the snow. Sucks that I'll probably have to wait till spring now thought I had a shot at getting it done but its too cold even in the garage right now to wanna attempt it.
I'm glad to hear about the tail shaft, I wasn't sure if it'd be one nice easy piece to take out or 20 different little things that must come out and go back in.
But about the rear seal is that something I can get from a parts store or will I have to special order online from a site like where I found the speedo drive gear?

I know right, the bad thing was there wasn't even any wind chill yet winter slept in for like 2 months but now it's hitting hard apparently.
but it's cool that I wont have to special order the rear seal, idk but it might not even leak when I get the air shocks on to lift the back end up but I wanna replace it while it's out.

ok so this morning i was out looking at my floor boards, the bad spot under my pass seat worries me, its large and right in the middle of the car... should i have any concern when cutting that piece out? never done a floor board job, ive always build newer cars... HELP lol

This is a very informative video. Even though it's on a first gen, the techniques would be the same. How much or little floor section you want to replace is up to you.
