Yeah i debated about buying it used, but the guy i got it from is a pretty honest guy and said it had actually only been ran on a motor for around 500 miles, but it sat on the shelf for over 8 years, besides i got the carb for $50 so it was a pretty good deal, even with the rebuild kit, metering block, and floats,i only have just a little over $100 in it,and it's now basically a new carb,so it worked out good.

I did the intake swap today. Still need to get the linkage fitted, and all the lines connected, and of course tune it to the engine. It looks great, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts about whether I'll cut a hole in the hood for the hilborn scoop. I may end up just putting two small air cleaners on the carbs and leaving it under the hood.
Either way I'll wait until I get all the bugs worked out and then decide what to do.

Damon, the Hilborn wont quite clear the hood in the front. I have two 1.5" polished aluminum spacers that I'm going to put on top the carbs to get it higher through the hood. I figure if it wont clear, then it needs to get up higher so it's really sucking fresh air. The spacers will bring about 2" of the front through, but the rear will still be just below hood surface. I like the looks of a scoop kinda peeking through more than sticking way up through the hood.
