Default Tire/Wheel Recommendations

I recently purchase a frame up restored 68' Camaro Coupe. It presently has BFG Radial T/A's mounted on American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels. I want ditch this setup for a more stock look using Classic Industries Chrome RS 8" wheels on the rear and 7" on the front. Does anyone know what tire will fit on this rear wheel and still stay relatively within the confines of the wheelwell? I am considering Cooper Cobra 285/60R15's on the rear. I have seen Camaros with larger tires on the rear yet not extremely lifted. This is the look I am after. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You can always go to a tire dealer or Tire Rack. the first set of number such as 285 will tell you how wide it is and then the second number is the index (what ratio it is to the first number) and the 3rd is obviously the rim size. Are you looking for a stock tread look too?
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...e.jsp?techid=7 You could always go with low profile tires with wide ones. I'm not 100% sure on what size tires will fit or what's the widest you can go. The width of the tire is also affected by the width of the rim. If it is a 7" rim and you can fit a 285, the width will be larger and if you mount that same tire on an 8" rim, the tire width will be more towards the correct width labeled on the tire.
