Well first of all, the only five speed you are going to find is a T5 and they arent worth a damn unless you have a 305. The 350 will shred it so fast. I have heard of people putting the T56 in other generations of camaro's, it does take time and a lot of fabricating. Overall the 4 speed would prolly be the best in my general opinion. Good Luck

I put a T56 in my 72 behind a 396. I bought a kit from t56kit.com. It came with a crossmember and the stuff for the hydraulic clutch. Pay attention to the year of the trans. It's important for the kit. I didn't have to do any trans tunnel mods, either. You will have to use a flywheel to adapt late modeltrans to earlier engine. Sure is fun and it's not very difficult at all. Good luck!
