Default stupid brakes

i did a big brake job about 3 years ago. i changed all the lines, shoes, wheel cyl., pads, calipers, bearings, master, proportioning valve. everything except the booster. the car sat for a while. and than i started driving it again, but the pedal always get soft. no matter how many times i bleed the system. adjust the back. it will get softer and not where i want it to be. when i did it, i did not bench bleed the master (if that matters) what could be the reasoning for my limp pedal. the car stops but it goes pretty low b4 it stops. im not sure what it is

Check the hoses, they may be old and tired and expand when you apply the brakes. But the master cylinder should have been the first thing to bleed.
