Im trying to reinstall the speedo cable but i cannot get the cable to go all the way up through the whole in the firewall to the top of the steering column to the speedo itself. is there any tricks to this? any help is appreciated.

 

Yea, pull the housing off the speedometer and drop it down, not up. Gravity will make it go down easier, and spin it as you feed it. Don't forget to lube it with some graphite!
