I do not know of anyone offering a radio like you mentioned. However, there is a place called S & M Electrotech in Blaine, Minnesota that puts new circuitry into old radios. They use Kenwood parts and the face looks just like original. They come with AM/FM, but the CD player has to be a remote changer(they use JVC). They also add jacks for Ipod. Total bill is around $500.
