3 positions? Is one of those positions "off"? On my car there's only two positions besides off. From off the first click is park litghts and dash lights. Second pos. is headlights and dash lights.
If you only have high beams with the headlight switch pulled all the way out, then hit the high beam switch and see if the lights go out, not to low beam. If so, your high beam switch is most likely bad.

PS- before changing out the high beam switch, try testing the plug at the headlight to see if there's voltage. There's always that slim chance that both headlamps lost low beam filaments.

so u have one headlight on each side? if so unplug the headlight turn on low beam and test the connectors to see if one of them are getting power. sould be three outlets one ground and two hots one for low beam and one for high. if no power to any of the outlets then its the wiring or switch. if there is power its the bulb.
