New member and a few questions
Hello, I'm new to the forum and I figured I'd introduce myself. I have a 1981 Z28 Camaro. I bought this car right out of high school not knowing what I was getting into lol. So far I've had the whole floor, trunk pan, and rear frame replaced. I just got my car back from the motor guy. For the motor I purchased a Edelbrock top end kit rated at 410hp, and it runs good!
I have run into a small problem and that is that my coolant overflow tank is cracked and leaks fluid causing my car to overheat. After many hours of searching I've found that you can no longer order a new tank because the part has been discontinued. So I don't know was to do, I know there is universal tanks but I want something that will mount easily and look good as well. Also I don't know if there is a certain size tank that I would need to get? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks Bryan.

It would'nt look great, but for the time being you could use some type of epoxy or something to seal the crack until you can find a good bottle. Also check ebay or craigslist, another option is jegs and summit both sell aluminum overflow tanks that come with all the mounting hardware so they would be a pretty easy install.
i have a tank but no cap for said tank.. i want to get one of those mini kegs from safeway. and somehow make that into an overflow bottle. i think it would look awesome painted black. great conversation piece too use some nice metal strapping and bolt that down where my evap canister was. or the wiper fluid bottle was.
Not positive if there is a certain size needed or not, personally i would go with a recirculating type though. Here is a link to the one i will be using.

I'd just go with one of these aftermarkets. They look great and aren't too spendy. You can get a nice billet aliminum at Summit for around $50.

npdlink.com has the overflow tank for 20 bucks that is a stock replacement. You will have to buy a new cap for it from ebay though.
Part number is c-1240-3 and is 20 bucks. In the catalog it says it's for a 73 - 77 but I'm pretty sure it will match up to the mounting holes but I could be wrong. It probably won't be an accurate restortation is the only reason they don't list it for other years.
If you take some pics of your old reservoir and post them up we can take a look and see if they'll match up to some degree.
