I'm going to go look at a 78 Z28, how can I tell if it's a true Z and not an impostor?

 

By the VIN number on the cowl tag saying Z-28..And a number of other cues.Find the build sheet Under the drivers sheet and on top of the gas tank Check the NastyZ-28 site and check the archives on a 1978 Z-28.And numerous other publications,You can never have enough true information when looking for a car. And have a knowledgeable friend go with you.So if you go "GA!CA!" over a car that will bring you back to your senses.Good luck on your search.Also Check with your insurance company they can look it up to see if its a Z-28
