The VIN number. Its near or in the dash by the windshield on the driver side. You can run the numbers on the internet and that should tell you what options and so forth your car had

What year? Vin searches don't always say whether it's a base, Z28, etc. Does the car have any badging? RPO codes might tell you whether it's a Z or not..I can't remember right now.

As said, hopefully it has the RPO sticker/decal and on it will be 'Z28'.

I would say it was a Z-28. I did a little research on car websites, and most of them lead me to believe it is a Z-28. However, 1985 was the first year for the IROC camaro.

There may be a little difference in the engine, and maybe some small design changes
