Hot Fuse Tap

Hot Fuse Tap
To power new dash instrument panel I need a always hot wire and an accessory power wire. The accessory I'm using is from the existing dash wire harness (pink). As far as I can tell, there is no always hot on that harness. So I'm grabbing from fuse box. I was going to put a fuse tap on the Hazards fuse. Now, is that what is best to use? And, I will be testing with an electrical meter, but does anybody know ahead of time which side of the fuse is power in, power out (need to put tap on out - fused side).
If I get to this today, dash will be back in, heater/AC all re-connected, and - fingers crossed - center console working. I'll put in picture later tonight or tomorrow.
And, as long as I have an experts attention, the dash instrument panel I bought wants sender and ground from fuel tank. Existing wires in harness are pink (power), black (ground) and tan, which I'm assuming is sender. Sound right?
