my car did not have a latch when i got it. i had to open the hood with a flat head screw driver!!! but i bought one out of a junked 80 i belive it was. def. a late second gen. berlenetta. so i got the top part chrome. but now i cant get it to close. am i missing something. without the hood down the thing goes into the hole and latches in. but when on the hood it doesnt go all the way down??? very confused.!!!

 

I don't remeber what those are like. Is it that big pin on the hood? Those are adjustable. There is usualy a lock nut and you loosen it and turn the pin out so it makes it longer. If its too long them you will feel the hood not close tightly. Can you post a pic?

 

yeah if you want. but after tinkering for an hour i figured it out.!!!! YAY!!!!!!!
