dang hatch Wont close!
My 1987 Iroc Z hatch wont close!
ive had this problem since i bought it, now its just annoying!
The striker wont even latch. and the motor i never hear so i dont even think it works idk..
I need help.
usually i just Slam it and use all my weght to close it. but i just put on black out tail light covers and i dont wont to break them...

pull off the plastic trim piece off of the inside rear and check your relay to see if it is broken. It will be a small black box plugged into some wires at the bottom. my trunk leaks a bit and shorts it out. If it is corroded or ruined you could tie a plastic bag around the new relay or wrap it in tape to keep water out.
If it is the motor instead of the relay you could always loosen the bolts and raise it up so it is easier to latch but I would check the relay first.

If you are slaming it shut, I can say the pull down system is shot. Nothing short of replacing the Parts will make it work.
Parts needed:
1) Nylon guides
2) Dr Gear
3) Electric motor
4) Housing if needed
