Engine color appears to be black, paint still in good condition at rear of block where the engine code is.The only code at the front of the block I can find is K04 14 9R. Sure hope it turns out to be a 350, but still want to find out so I can get the bore size to order new gasket set.

The numbers on the front are pretty good to see, thought it may have been 9P, but pretty sure it's 9R. I did find a K 2 near the block casting number at the rear...would this help any??

The 010 block casting was generally used for the 4" bore I cant find the 9R or a 9P I found a 9A which is a bus 305. My suggestion is to pull the head get a bore guage or a good set of mics and measure the bore if it is under 4" its not a 350 or a 327.

In reply tobluovlh8er engine cast code (raised numbers)is 3970010at rear, and numbers etched at the front are K04 14 9R. Bought a lighted mirror, and will try to see if 5.0 is cast at the rear somewhere

I'm gonna go with it being a 350, put in a parts request for gaskets and was told that the casting was for a 350. Engines going to get pulled this winter to have a bit of a rebuild, so I guess I'll start ordering parts then once I pull the heads and get the correct bore size. Thanks for all the posts!! I've posted again to see about any exhaust ideas...please check it out and let me know your ideas and I'd appreciate any pics you guys may have of what's underneath!!
