No, they were installed correctly, with the arrow pointing back to the tailpipe.

 

I only mentioned that, because when you look down them, an easy mistake would be to assume they would work better with the exhaust flow going into the louvers, thinking the mufflers will "grab" the sound. That will blow them out and ruin them faster than anything.
