fuel intank screen/filter

Default fuel intank screen/filter

from what ive read online there should be a filter or screen on the end of the fuel line inside the tank. checked with autozone and cant seem to find one. anyone know where i can get one?

There should be what is refered to as a fuel "sock" that is attached to the end of the fuel pickup in the tank. Should be like this:ACDELCO 5651711 Fuel Pump Filter/Strainer/Sock | eBay

FYI the sock traps junk in the tank from getting in your lines and then your filter.

is the sock really needed? there isn't one in the tank now.

you should try to find one.

If you cant, go to a fish store. The sell a similar material for fish tank filters.
It is a nylon sock that is used to hold charcoal. Ask for a charcoal bag.

You can cut this sock and wire tie it of the pick up tube.

Well, since that's a new one for sale in the ebay link that 71 listed, I'd take a wild stab and say they're probably still available!
And yes, you definitely want one in the tank, so you don't ruin your fuel pump, among other things.
