Default engine good or bad

code 10066036 2 or 4...Target Master/Goodwrench crate motor, 2-piece rear seal...."hecho en mexico" anyone know about this motor or no? is it worth rebuilding it? i would like to bore it out throw a nice cam in and some nice dished pistons and push about 400 hp or so.... is it worth it?

should be. its a 350 small block. not sure what the 2/4 means. either it came in both 2 and 4 bolt mains and u have to look to see, or, it has 2 bolt mains on the ends and 4 bolt on the other journals. depending on what u want to do it may be a good idea to look to see what it is. if u want to do some juice or forced air it would be a good idea to have 4 bolt.

At a target of 400 hp you don't need to worry about 2 or 4 bolt mains. Decent crank, rods and pistons (well balanced of course) will hold up just fine on 2 bolt mains to over 500hp. The target 350 engines had good castings and are good rebuildable blocks. Get the machining done first and use good quality parts, it will be fine.

i have the same engine in my 78, she sat untouched for 8 years and cranked right up, puts out alot of power even though it really needs a rebuild. all in all i think its worth rebuilding.
