Default edelbrock air gap clearance

going to get a 383 built for my 79', just wondering if the edelbrock air gap manifolds have enough hood clearance with an aftermarket air cleaner (3")?

Doubtful unless you used a dropped air cleaner. I think the Weiand Air Strikes are the same but are a bit shorter but don't quote me on that for I'm not 100% sure. Their RPM range is a little broader too on the Weiand.

I have the air gap intake and a dropped cleaner and still do not have the clearance for a stock hood.

You could use a 2" filter element.

Think I'll get enough air with a 2" cleaner? I'd sure like to stay under the stock hood.
