Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy a 2nd get Camaro and have a couple options of cars I’ve found in my area. Based on the information below, what are y’alls thoughts? As far as price, the ’77 is $2k more than the ’79. Feel free to ask any questions.
’77 Camaro z/28 - clean clear title
Engine: 350
Bigger cam - probably about a 280
New Holley Street Warrior 600 carb
Runs great, stays cool, driver immediately
Trans: manual (model unknown)
Rear-end: 10 bolt post trac
Line lock
Traction bars
Air shocks on the rear
Body: very small rust in the rear quarters behind the tires
Other things I know about it:
Interior is in good shape, not great
Removable 6-point roll cage
Disc brakes in the front, drums in the rear
“Supposed to have a heavy duty pressure plate and upgraded disc. It will bite hard and has no chatter or hot spots you can feel."
Extra parts that come with it:
Full set of factory Z wheels with caps and beauty rings
Another dash panel
The rest of the A/C system
Speedway late model lights
Brand new set of headers in the box
Another set of weld wheels with a different offset
Rear anti-sway bar
’79 Camaro - clean clear title
Engine: 350
Unknown small cam
“Worked heads"
“650 carbs I believe"
High rise tunnel ram intake
Runs great, "180 degrees all day", driver immediately
Well, an update here. The blue one came back with some frame damage on the inspection and just a little more overall work than i was ready to get into. During that time the black one sold as well. BUT, i did end up purchasing this beauty! 1976 with a 383 and a bunch of other work already done; new trans, new 12 bolt rear end, long tube headers, disc brakes all the way around, tubular uppers and lowers, etc.
Y2K, nothing too fancy. Turbo 350 with a B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter.
Al, not sure what brand but yea, it's a 4" cowl steel hood. And yes, I'll eventually get the A/C back in. Got all the duct work for the dash to install, just need to plumb it up and stuff.
