Clicking noise!? HELP!
Hey guys
This has been driving me crazy for the past week or so, and I am yet to figure out whats wrong.
My crankshaft pulley is apperantley bent, so whenever I rev up real hard the fan belt comes off, and the the car overheats in a matter of minutes. The coolant acctually boils in the radiator and overflow, steaming up. This happened 3 times, and on the third time the clicking noisebegan.
When the car runs, there is this annoying clicking noise. The faster I go, the more it clicks. Thenoise is in a rate of about 2 clicks per second at its fastest.
I know that there are leaks in my exhaust pipes and muffler, might that be the cause? Maybe the muffler is loose and is causing the noise? Couldthe noisehave anything to do with the bent crank pulley? Some guy told me that the clicking might be coming from something on my fuel pump; but I couldnt figure it out when I got home. The engine sounds and runs great, so I dont think it has anything to do with the noise. Tranny shifts perfect and wasnt harmed, so I doubt its the cause either.
By the way, its a 1975 camaro, 350 chevy small block, flowmaster dual exhaust. Not sure about the fuel pump, but its mechanical, not electric.
All help and advice appreciated! This is driving me nuts!

RE: Clicking noise!? HELP!
i had that same problem and it turned out to be that it was just the valve train all you have to do is tightin down the rockers
an easy way to find out is just pop off the valve covers and if you move any of the rockers like side to side then thats your click
just tightin them down till you cant move them anymore and then lossen it by a 1/4 turn and you should be good
because i got my click after i overheated my 78 rs a couple of times now its all good

RE: Clicking noise!? HELP!
Check the water pump sometimes they will click when they go bad. Can you see the pully when running is it running true? Also do not adjust your valves like suggested above they need to be in the correct position to be adjusted(valve closed) unloosen allow the lifter to rebound(hydraulic lifter) turn to pushrod contact and then 1/2 turn. I think there is a post here somewhere that details it well.
