Default RE: Catalytic converter plugged?

OK I avoided the pipe drop for now
When I was getting ready to unbolt the y pipe on the driver side I started fooling with the carb, pushing all the linkage, anything that would move. The car runs nicely again. I am thinking this carb may need to be rebuilt top to bottom. It has been suggested to me at this forum that the carb may be damaged from sitting so long.
When I was underneath the car again after thatI discovered a oil leak from the back corner of the valve cover passenger side dripping slowly on the exhaust, this was the smoke I believe.
While I was down there I sawa rubber line hanging down by the tranny.I traced it back up to the engine compartment. It starts out as a short rubber line on the bottom, turns into a steel line, then back to rubber again ending up with the other vaccum connections we discussed in another thread. I will show you the picture on top I have from before.Tell me what you think.
Thanks as always

The rubber line may go to a vacuum module on the tranny.
If your car runs good after messing with the carbs linkages spray down the linkage with some carb cleaner to make the linkages unstick and work freely.

Can you give me a idea where to look for the mod on the tranny? The hose is hanging on the passenger side.
I did get some carb spray last night, I plan on going over it all today
Thanx

The module should be near the tail shaft above the pan. On the passenger side too I believe.
