Camshaft Question
While I was ordering my carb/intake, I noticed that my particular combo had two power kits; 3701pk and 3701pk4. The only difference is the camshaft. The Edelbrock 2102 Edelbrock Performer-Plus Camshaft & Lifter Kitand the Edelbrock 2103 Edelbrock Performer-Plus Camshaft & Lifter Kit. I have NO idea about cams, even though I've tried to figure them out. What do you think of either. So far I have an edelbrock 1400/3701 combo, and am about to get a new exhaust, headers and then followed by new heads. I'm trying for a street cruiser with nice hp.
Thanks
Jon
Also, what kind of hp and torque gain can I expect from the carb/intake combo, and the entire 3701pk combo?
Thanks
Jon

Neither. I would call Isky or Doug Herbert cams if I were going flat tappet. They will help you out if you call their tech line. They are cheaper and they are much better than ANY Edelbrock cam. Those cams are almost 20 yr old technology. Not alot of people I know in real life of here in fake life run an Eddy cam of any sort.
I totally agree with Damon! Either cam is not much more than a stock cam specs. Pretty poor for a "performance" cam. I would reccommend either the Isky 270 Mega Cam, or the Summit/Crane in one of these two:
Summit Racing SUM-K00052 - Summit Racing Street & Strip® Cam Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com
A smoother idle, and more LSA. I think this would be best for your engine.
Summit Racing SUM-K00172 - Summit Racing Street & Strip® Cam Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com
This one is a pretty lopey idle, and not sure of your CR to use it. Pretty tight LSA at 106.
