a/c heater blower motor question.
my blower motor works on all settings but not max.i replaced blower motor even though i doubted it was bad because if it works at lower speeds i seen no reason it would not work on high.still wont work on max,so i replaced the switch and still no max on the blower motor.when i installed the blower motor i seen where it connects to a small metal box near the firewall.is this where the resistor would be???or any other ideas why the max wont work???and yes i did try it on a/c and heat settings on the controls.thanks
Depending on the year of your car, there is probably a high speed relay. In air conditioned cars it is located on the side of the A/C housing under the hood. I think some years also had a high speed fuse under the hood. A small in-line fuse holder above and slightly left of the distributor.
If you only have max, the problem is with the connections or the resistor itself. The resistor is mounted into the heater/AC housing and has three or four wires going to it.
