Default 67 Heater box blower resistor does what?

Looks like a couple of springs that move when heated, but do they regulate speed or heat or what? I'm sure mine dont do anything anymore, but just wondering what they/it is supposed to do? Thanks.

You looking at the rectangular piece that has three electrical prongs on the outside of the heater box? That's a resistor, and it controls fan speed.

Okay, sounds good. I thought the fan speed was controlled by the slider ****. I'll have to see if mine works at all. Thanks.
