Sweet...ill try it out, it cant hurt...im going to replace it anyway.

Just make sure you get the degreaser when you get the spray, so they can give you the right stuff. Also be sure you let it dry well before painting. I usually wait overnight before painting, and don't paint it outside in the sun! If it's too hot on the surface the paint will dry too fast and cause it to peel.

Can i get the degreaser at autozone as well? Is it the same brand?

They should have the degreaser, made by the same company as the dye.
