b&m ratchet shifters
Im looking to get a ratchet shifter for my 700r4. I really like the stealth and the quicksilver, but I love how the hurst quarter sticks look. Is there any way I could swap out the handle to get the quarter stick look?
Also I was wondering how drive works on the shifters. Im guessing that when in drive it shifts by its self, but when you throw it back into 3rd or lower it becomes completely manual. Do you have to down shift when in 3rd, or will it go into 1st at a stop?
Sorry for all the questions, This is my first experince with ratchet shifters!

Can't say about swapping handles, but I doubt you can since the Quarter Stick has a trigger type reverse lockout control. If you like the look better, why not get that one? A ratchet shifter doesn't change how your trans shifts on it's own. When in drive, it'll upshift and downshift just the same as it works for you now. A lot of ratchet shifters are dual mode, straight gate and ratchet. So when put in ratchet mode, you can row through the gears manually for when you feel like pretending you're a race car driver.

I had a B+M in my race car. The trigger reverse lock out can be a pain in the butt. Sometimes requiring two hands to get in park. They have the big handle and the smaller one that needs to move for park. I'm going off 6yr old memories though. Basically I remember it sucking, when actually racing though. It can't be beat. My though was the harder and more violent I could push it forward the faster I could change gears, lowering my E.T. It took everything I could throw at it, literally.

I like my B&M Megashifters because they work well, and don't have the weird lockout lever for park that requires two hands to operate.
