Another step closer!
Wow, this thread is probably going to account for about half of my next paycheck. First the exhaust, which I'm gonna order (probably tomorrow, now I know it runs), then the seats, that's the third really good thing I've heard about those seats. I'm not really diggin the beat up ones in my car, so I may as well not spend any more money on stuff, I'm gonna change anyway. Maybe I'll get a break on shipping...haha

Haha, yeah all the stuff you get from them, you'd think they would return the favor every once in a while.Maybe it's my good looks haha,it's funny because the part i bought was only $10 plus the shipping, and they give a discount that big, only thing i can figure is maybe it was because i bought the part from them through ebay,so maybe it's to attract the ebay buyers to buy direct from their site.
My project today was to start replacing a lot of the under hood bolts with stainless allen button head bolts. Got the radiator top support, hood latch plate, and radiator core supports done.

Also downloaded a decal from the web and made a new horn button emblem to cover the Grant GT emblem. Just covered it with clear vinyl and glued it over the horn button.

Helped my neighbor put a swaybar in his Chevy truck this morning, then decided I'd put off making braces for my front spoiler long enough. Searched the garage and found some old aluminum tent poles that looked pretty nice. Polished aluminum braces would be way tricker than just black tubing, and lighter too!
Measured up the hole distance and cut the braces about 9" long. Then I flattened the ends in the vise and bent them to about 20 degrees. Took them outside and held them in place so I could use a felt pen to mark the holes. Drilled the 1/4" holes and bolted them in with fender washers to spread the load on the plastic spoiler. Less than an hour's work!

Thanks guys! My friends say I've still got my first buck, just because I'd rather spend time than money on the car when I can!
Actually it's part thrifty, and part "wonder if I could build those?". I've been known to spend hours on a $10 item, just because I wanted to see if I could do it myself.
I turned my front and rear swaybar bushings on my lathe from some old teflon I found at work, just to see if it could be done. Tossed a few before I got it right, but darn if I didn't finally get them! Just spun them round, milled one side flat on the milling machine, then turned the correct hole in the center and cut a split to allow installation!
Afterall, isn't that what hotrodding is really about?

Not to mention that is a good skill to have, never know when your going to need a part that they dont reproduce, and you wont be able to find it anywhere,so making it would be about the only option.
