Default AC Blower motor keeps runing

I have a 1980 Camero with factory AC. The blower motor works through all of the speeds. However when the key is on the motor turns on low speed. I tryed replacing the relay, maybe it's designed to work that way. If any one has any advice I would appreciate.

Mine does exactly the same. It's done it since I bought it new in 1980 so I think that's the way it's supposed to work

I don't have ana AC car, but Chevrolets of that period often have interconnection to slide controls for the blowers and unless everything is at it's lowest position it wont turn off.

Good call. I didn't know that but do remember my parents always had the controls to the cold side.

The blower motor on these cars with a/c was designed to run at all times,it is to circulate fresh air since the a/c cars dont have the fresh air vents in the kick panels like a non a/c car does..

Kinda makes sense, but then not. If I never open my vents I don't get fresh air, so wonder why they would make a system that would be like having the vent open all the time?
