Default 81 Z-28 Suspension

Here is the scoop. I have a 81 Z-28. I am trying to find out a few things regarding the suspension. What I am looking for is:

Factory Camber Settings
Factory Caster Settings
What the dimensions are from hub to hub on the front wheels, and what wheel and tire package came off the showroom.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Default RE: 81 Z-28 Suspension

I don't know what the aluminum rim option was but the steel option was most likely the five spoke 15x7's. As for the alignment specs GM specified 0.6 pos. camber and 1.0 caster, as per my Hunter DSP 4000. here's the problem: Camaro's drive like **** with these settings. I have done this enough to know. Here's what to do: start with the right (pass) side first, set camber 0.2 deg negative and as much caster as you can get, I got 2.2 deg. on my brothers, the key is the 0.2 negative. Then go to the left (driver) side. Set camber 0.2 deg. negative and caster at most 0.3 less than the right. so if you have 2.2 deg caster on the right then try to get no less than 1.9 on the left. It is amazing how responsive and quick these settings make a Camaro steer. I set my brothers 79 RS that way and it's a totaly different car. If anyone remembers the DKM Macho T/A, that's the alighnment specs that they were set to. Bear in mind that alot of things affect what the alignment machine reads. if the rear of the car sits high, as with air shocks, it will show less caster. if it sits low, as with 25 year old springs, it will show more caster. also uneven tire press. will affect your camber readings.
-0.2 degs. camber
2.0 2.5 degs caster w/0.3 cross caster.
