I hve it logged somewhere, I can't find it. I don't think it was toouch different now that I'm thinking about it. It's also getting hot out so it will be a bit different.

Whenever I go to the big box parts stores, I first look at their parts online. Then I write down the various part numbers I want to look at, and give them the list when I get there. It avoids all the what year, make, model, questions that don't always apply.

Ok I'm gonna toss out some left field chit but... here goes. First PCV hooked up? You dont evac the crankcase pressure, it will make itself a vent. Two, deep left center here. "Top end kit" meaning heads? Try and add another gasket under the dizzy. My heads were cut after dropping a valve and I had SERIOUS psi. Like pegged at all times high. I blew oil filters off the damn thing. So I tried an Moroso race filter because they were thicker. Thats when I got the pegged readings, no other filter lasted long enough to see whats-what. This was before forums and stuff so fixing it was a ask around deal. Finally asked the guy who did the machine work what I could try. Shim the dizzy he says. Whaaa? Yup the heads being shorter shoved the dizzy into the pump and when I clamped it I preloaded the gears in the oil pump against the pump housing and there was zero pump leakage. MSD makes shims as well as a slip collar dizzy for this situation. Sure enough. The heads are one resurfacing #3 and I have a shim under the dizzy right now. The combo has had two more short blocks under them and no issues with pressure.

So the guy who was "helping" me screwed my damn harmonic dampener. I was able to get a new one. Sealed it all up. No more leak. For 15 min. Where the front oil pan seal meets the timing cover there is a little drip out of the bottom. I think it was improperly seal by my "helper". Im going to clean the heck out of it with break cleaner and triple black that sucker.
