Default '79 camaro/ brakes

I'm new to the forum, but it looks like a great site! Hope someone can help me with a brake problem. I installed new shoes (rear) and pads. Also replaced wheel cylinders. Try as I might, I CAN'T get the air out of the rear system, front is fine. I'm new to Camaros, all help greatly appreciated. Proportioning valve? The old shoes were barely worn. Please help!

Have you blead them from just the bleeders? Sometimes I can do better with bleeding the lines, but if all else fails you can take them and get them power bled.

First off, What makes you think you still have air in the lines? Do you have ecessive pedal traval? and have you adjusted the rear brakes properly?

Ran into this once on a jeep with a proportioning valve. I agree with V8chvguy but if you have good pedal and are ajusted proper. Basics first bleed from the wheel cylinder farthest away from the master cylinder first and so on. If you bleed the front first you wont get a good pedalstroke
to discharge air out of the lines.Power bleeding also might fix this problem but could mask a problem with a proportioning valve. If not start from the back and work up stream

my 79 is getting a new proportioning valve. I had the same problem i kept bleeding the lines but it didnt work i put a new master cylinder and power booster and that did nothing for me. But i did have a little brake fluid in the booster so not a waste of money. You wont be able to get a new proportionig valve. you will half to modify you brakes with a single valve and run you lines a little different. see a tech or go to a good person to help you out. good luck..
