70 camaro fiberglass cowl hood

Default 70 camaro fiberglass cowl hood

when i bought my car it had a fiberglass cowl hood, but i cant get the drivers side rear part of hood to sit flush. It's raised up a little do i need different springs on my hood higes because of the fiberglass being lighter? any suggestions?

Yes, you don't want to use the metal hood springs, as that tweaks the hood up, and can also cause stress cracks down the line from the up-force when closing it. They make special lightweight springs for glass hoods. Or what I've done in the past, is buy some pull springs at the hardware store, which are less costly. The light glass hood only needs a little resistance to hold it up.

I have read that some of the Harwood springs are a little to stiff still. I think Pablo had to go to Lowes or something to get tsprings soft enough.
