Default Chrome Rally rings

Is there a trick to installing the chrome rings on rally rims? I got two to stay on. The other two spring one side off when I get the other side on. Am I missing something? Doesn't seem it should be this hard to get the rings on.

Get the bottom side started on first, but not on all the way. Then sit on the ground with your feet against the bottom of the ring and smack the top side on, then work your way all around the ring.

It worked. Apparently you have to beat them with a rubber mallet like you don't care if they get hurt. Then the popped right on.

Thanks

You're welcome. Are the rings new, because the first time is always the tightest.

No, the rings are old/used. Just couldn't believe I had to wack them that hard to get them to seat.

At least you should feel confident they shouldn't zing off on you if you hit a hard bump.
