Replace the rod, never weld.
Replace the piston.
Do that only after inspecting the block to make sure no damage was done to the cylinder wall, crank, and the block itself.

if you are looking for a replacement, contact a machine shop that you trust. They have Rods as well as pistons. if your wanting to keep it non-after market. You say it is "Cracked", were you working on the motor and found this crack as you inspected the motor?
Do you have pictures of your cracked rod or piston?
