then they don't have stock valves because when I measured the valves they were 2.02 and 1.94. so would these bigger valves help the heads flow better?

Yep. If you're on a shoestring budget, those heads will definitely be better than the ones that are on the engine now.

Or you have an grandfather that will never look at other head other than camel hump even when he had a motor with AFR aluminum heads on it. Lol

Yeah, because the Camel Hump heads were the bees-knees, whippersnapper!
What's with all this modern advanced technology mumbo jumbo I keep hearing about anyway?? lol

so that settles the top end but I still need to know a decent cam for the engine. I know dad is gonna want some decent mpgs but I know he also would like to get those back tires to chirp when he wants. is there a cam that can do the job?

I have a Comp 280 grind in my 350 that's in my 33 ford pickup. sounds good and the motor runs hard, but I have a little bit more work in the rest of the engine.


had a comp 286H in a 400 small block that was a good cam.


you could run a stock cam and get the tires to chirp

crane cams has a master list of all the factory grind cams. have to watch though since some are factory solid lifters.
