Tranny Install - with or without the motor?
#31
GOOD point Everett, but the motor is coming out tonight. I have everything unbolted and ready to hook up the hoist. Darn it. I might have another gauge in my cabinet??
What could possibly be going on in a new pump? There isn't any plugs I should have looked for is there?
Oh well, I'll pull it out, drop the pan, check the pump and maybe put another one in. I'm still a little disappointed in the gear drive not making enough noise. Unless there wasn't enough oil getting to it to help it out?
I used over 1 bottle of Permatex assembly lube, so I'm not worried about the motor - but will let you know what I find shortly.

Good point. I think before I tear into it, i'll install another gauge I have and spin it with the primer and see if anything goes, but I watched the oil line and it was pretty sad.
And to top it off, last night while trying to spin the motor around to get to the last 2 torque converter bolts ... it was extremely tight. Soooo maybe I'll rip it open if I don't see anything when I pull the pan.
Dang it. Missed Good Guys at Pleasanton this weekend too. Argh.
