Agree! If the TV Cable isn't adjusted correctly, the trans will go up in smoke. The same holds true for the 2004R. I'd be nervous...a good trans shop knows this.

I'm a little confused at why you would add clutches to a trans? Run hi temp steels and high friction clutches therefor keeping your stock clearances within the transmission.

I don't want to make assumptions, but if the clutches were burned up on a fairly recent trans and it is still shifting light.....the TV cable is not adjusted correctly. I know I stated earlier that this cable is more complicated than a "kick down"; it is much more that of the cables attached to like a ford C4 trans. It controls line pressure as well as shift points based on that line pressure (yes I know there is the governor with weights and springs too). If it is too slack, line pressure will be low and shifts will be light and often "stacked". The TV cable needs to be at the very least examined immediately if not to remove it from the troubleshoot list.
