Default Looking for rebuild kit for steering box

I pulled my steering box out to clean it, and would like to rebuild it before putting it back in. I have checked a few websites, but they only sell new or rebuilt units. (Manual gearbox in a '68)

Does anyone know where to get a rebuild kit?

Also, how do I pull out the main shaft (the one attached to the steering column)

Mine is so gummed up that I can't tell if it is the 1 1/4" nut or the 4-inch locknut

Thanks, I never searched for it, just went to my known parts sites. Someday I'll figure out this internet thing!

Ended up going through Eckler's for the parts. They had the input and output seals, and the gasket for the access plate. They didn't have the brass sleeve/bushing for the output shaft, which was actually quite worn.
Judging from the condition of the lube, which almost looked like bearing grease, this part hadn't been touched since new!

Hi Robert. Try places like Summit Racing for parts like this. (They will send you a free catalog too.) Great selection, knowledgeable people, and tough to beat their prices. I like Eckler's and have ordered plenty of stuff from them, but for parts like this, go with a place like Summit and save some money.
