Default 68 Convertible Suspension Upgrade

Recently bought a base model 68 convertible that was pretty much all redone except the 10 bolt open rear and suspension. I have a good lead on rebuilt 12 bolt but want to upgrade the rear suspension while installing rear. Car currently has mono leaf springs that I'm pretty sure are original. What would be the benefit in changing to multi leaf? Car has lowering spindles on the front and sits really good. I have seen kits on Ricks Camaro that are 2" or 3" lowering mulitleaf springs, shocks and all hardware. I want to keep the car relatively stock, just lower than stock. The car is a 100% street cruiser and will never see a track, I just want it to ride and handle good. Appreciate any help!

Maybe go with a factory F-41 suspension like for an SS and or Z-28

Why change springs? If she sits correctly, leave them installed and drive her.
Installing new springs is going to add to down time, aggravation, and less monies in pocket.

If you change, you will need spacers for spring plate bolts as present axle has mono-leaf perches and going to a multi-leaf spring, a deeper perch will be needed. You can eliminate the pads and install a three-leaf spring.

to be honest, 53 year old springs make me a little nervous. I would rather spend the money now while replacing the rear than take a chance and have a spring break. The 12 bolt I am buying has multi leaf perches.
