Default suspension for my 68

hello everyone! i need a little help. I have a 68 camaro that has a original 250 in it now that i threw a rod in. I am taking that out and going to go all out. I am going to be putting in a LS1 engine. I am going to be changing out the trans and rear end also. I have all that worked out but i need some advice on the suspension. I have been looking at putting in air bags but not sure. I know the stance i am looking for and that is Low and mean. If anyone has any advice on what i should do let me know.

I'm a newbie so I can't give too much advice, but you can look into a tubular subframe and front coilover suspension

They also make coilover conversion kits for us in the rear that will mount to the rear axle.

Your upgrade is pretty straight forward right up to the Bag the rear part. Our cars come with leaf spings that they give us our ride height and spring. they also locate the axle. To put bags on step one is remove the leaf springs. The air bags give you ride height and spring but they do not locate. So now you have to build/buy a suspension. I assume since you are asking a question you will not be building it. Here are some options.

If you are looking a tloweirng the car but keeping the ride fairly normal you may want to go to a slightly heavier spring in the front, originals a likely tired anyways, and a 2 inch drop spindle setup. Make sure the spindle accepts the stock steering arms. Since you will be changing out the diff it would be easy at that time to change out the rear leafs and add a sway bar.

In the rear to give you some flexibity yet still stay within the stock suspension configuratuion you may want to go to a low rate rear leaf spring and add a stock mounting point coil-over shock with a properly calibrated coil and use the coil-over as an adjustment point to raise lower or stiffen up the rear.
