T5 installation kits

T5 installation kits
I just picked up a T5 from a firebird. I got just the transmission and need to get a kit to install behind my 350 in my 67.
If this was a Mustang I'd have it nailed. I searched and can't find a kit.
I would like a hydraulic clutch. I have a pedal in the car but it has a slush box TH350 with horseshoe shifter. So I need everything.
Is there a place I can just get everything including brackets, driveshaft and etc?
Thanks,
Mel

You should be able to get everything from a 3rd gen 305/T5 car to build what you want except the drive shaft. I am not aware of a kit since the parts are so ready available. I am sure someone makes one but it is going to be $1200 for $200 worth of parts you can find at any swap meet.
I hope you did your research the T5 is not a very strong transmission. GM never put it behind a 350 because it was not strong enough.

I have a T5 in my 67 Mustang and the smaller small block Ford puts out more HP than this 350. I don't see a problem.
Yes there are better choices but none affordable at this time. I will just have to see. I promise I won't beat on it like my previous TKO600.
The T5 should be ok up to about 350 HP and that is where I am.
Back on topic, I read that the third gen bell housing put the trans at a canted angle that is not desirable. Is this the case?
Do I need a specific flywheel?
I want to use a hydraulic clutch like in my Mustang. Will the third gen parts bolt up or do I need to get kit.
Thanks in advance for the help.
One last thing, I'm going to the bone yard Monday, what years do I need to ask for?

I hope that T5 is out of a V8 car, otherwise it wont bolt to your 350. The cant on the transmission will be a problem. You will need to make a custom transmission mount. I am not aware of an aftermarket one. Also, the cant might put the shifter handle in the wrong spot.

Just a FYI the T5 is rated for 265 Ft/lbs of torque. Torque is what breaks transmission. So a 6500 RPM 302 is a lot easier on a trans then say a 351. A 390 that could hook up would break it on the first pull. I was a mechanic when these trans were new and I did a lot of warranty repair on the 305 TPI T5 camaros.
Late edit: not all t5's are equal, I think about 87 the T5 became the WCT5. (World Class T5) This was the upgrade that was needed for 302 fords Stangs and the 305 TPI Camaros. T5 that are Pre WC are really 6 cylinder transmission. I believe the WCT5 was about 20% stronger then is older bother. Meaning the original T5 was only good for about 220 Ft/lbs of torque on a good day. 2.8 S10's blazers use to break them all the time. I think it was weight and the traction of the 4wd.
