Default oilpan

Can you get the oil pan off on a 68 with a 396 with the engine in the car?

Default oil pan

thanks, I have to put in a new rear seal, I know it would be alot easier to pull the motor but I'm tring to do in my driveway without my HOA getting all over me. I know I will have to jack the engine up but it still looks like it will be tight. I've done it with a small block, but was not sure with a big block.

well, your right you can but I had to remove the starter and passenger side header, which allowed the pan to roll up and out, also had to rotate engine a couple of times but got her done and back together.
